Langra mango, originating from Varanasi, is a highly esteemed mango variety widely cultivated in West Bengal, particularly in the Malda district, known as the state's "mango belt." This mango variety is distinguished by its medium to large size, greenish-yellow skin even when ripe, and its sweet, tangy, and aromatic flavor. The fiberless, juicy flesh makes it a favorite for fresh consumption, as well as for use in desserts, beverages, and preserves.

The harvesting season for Langra mangoes in West Bengal typically spans late June to July. Mango cultivation is a significant contributor to the local economy, providing livelihoods to numerous farmers and driving both domestic and international trade. Langra mangoes are deeply integrated into Bengali culture and cuisine, celebrated during mango festivals and enjoyed in a variety of traditional dishes and products
